The city of Jacksonville’s current Prime Osborn Convention Center has only 78,000 square feet of exhibition space, which makes us competitive for 13 percent of conventions.
In order to obtain the 200,000-plus square feet of exhibition space needed to compete for 65 percent of conventions, Jacksonville should build a new convention center using a joint agreement with the Hyatt to include the hotel’s second floor as a part of this space.
